During his preparation in Baguio City, Philippines, under four-time Trainer of the Year, Freddie Roach, WBO welterweight (147 pounds) champion Manny Pacquiao is gearing up for his HBO pay per view televised Nov. 13 clash with ex-titlist Antonio Margarito in pursuit of the vacant WBC junior middleweight (154 pounds) crown.
Pacquiao will bring a winning streak of 12 consecutive fights, including eight knockouts into their clash, which, in victory, would yield the Filipino warrior's eighth crown in as many different weight divisions.
Among the sparring partners for Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 knockouts) as he readies for Margarito (38-6, 27 KOs) are junior middleweights Michael Medina (24-2-2, 19 KOs), and, Glen Tapia (7-0, five KOs), although there is speculation that junior middleweight and middleweight (160 pounds) prospect Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and junior middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan (28-0, 17 KOs) could yet join them.
